As part of the ÜNİDES project, the Art History Society—established by the students of our department—organized a trip to Palu Castle in Elazığ with the participation of Asst. Prof. Dr. Meral Başaran.
Rising in the Palu district of Elazığ, Palu Castle dates back 3,000 years to the Urartian period. Featuring the cuneiform-inscribed inscription of Menua and rock-cut tombs, the castle holds significant value in the field of Art History and overlooks the scenic Murat River.
Located near the castle, the Historic Palu Bridge was once a key crossing point along the Silk Road.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support through the ÜNİDES program.
