The first stop of the Art History Society—established by the students of our department—within the scope of the ÜNİDES project was the Great Mosque and Hospital of Divriği in Sivas, with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korkmaz Şen and Asst. Prof. Dr. Meral Başaran.
Notable for its rich ornamentation and intricate stonework, the Divriği Great Mosque is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support of the trip to the Divriği Complex, which holds great significance in the context of Anatolian Turkish art.
